DRUMHELLER,AB- On Wednesday, Oct 16th the Drumheller Dragons along with ATB Financial & Torxen joined forces for the 1st edition of the noon AJHL game for Drumheller & area schools. The kids came pouring in, 1436 to be exact, 2nd the second highest attendance record for a Dragons regular season game.
Schools who skipped class to take in the game between the Dragons and Lloydminster included: Greentree, St.Anthony’s,DVSS, St.Luke’s Outreach,Morrin, Delia, & Big Valley. Local energy company Ember Resources was also generous in providing funding for the rural schools busing expenses into Drumheller for the game.
Along with a great AJHL hockey game that seen the Dragons victorious 6-2, it was also an opportunity for education students on the #vapinginfo initiative. Vaping has become a big issue in Canada, and with the support of Health Canada and AHS we were able to provide students with information at the game on the topic.
Martin McSween from AHS was on hand to answer questions and hand out information on #vapinginfo to students, and also spoke to the crowd during the game!
