Defenseman Mitchell Gartner of the Drumheller Dragons is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week for the week ending January 20th, 2013. Gartner recorded 4 goals and 8 points in 4 games for the Dragons. Gartner scored the game winning goal versus the Calgary Mustangs on January 14th and against the Camrose Kodiaks on January 18th. He was also selected the Pro Hockey Life Player of the Game on January 14th, 18th and 19th.
Mitchell Gartner is in his third AJHL season, and his first with the Drumheller Dragons. The 20 year-old from Macklin, SK is 3rd in team scoring with 30 points and 5th overall amongst AJHL defencemen.
