Daneault Wins AJHL Rookie of the Year

Drumheller, AB: Today the AJHL announced their 2024-25 League Award Winners, and there was one Dragon that took home some pretty impressive hardware!

2008 born rookie forward, Easton Daneault, was named the 2024-25 AJHL Rookie of the Year! All season long, Daneault was a staple on the Dragons top line alongside Ellis Mieyette and Bradley Gallo. This line consistently produced offense and was a large reason the Dragons had one of the top powerplays in the league this season. Despite being a 16 year old, the Red Deer native was one of the Dragons top forwards and a true leader both on and off the ice. During the course of the year, Easton also earned a scholarship to play NCAA Division I hockey at Merrimack College and was signed by the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL.

Daneault produced 21 goals and 56 points in just 54 games played this year. His 56 points is the second most by a rookie in Dragons franchise history, and his 21 goals and 35 assists finished as fifth most in both categories. Easton was also the highest scoring rookie in the AJHL and had 28 more points then the next nearest 2008 born player in the league.

Congrats on this tremendous accomplishment, Easton!
