The Dragons improved to 5-1-0 on the season in a heated affair Tuesday night with the Calgary Mustangs. Wyatt Noskey led the way with 2 goals. Tristan Thompson, Ryan Suchorab, Clint Filbrandt, Carson Pickett and Hunter Mills all had 2 points on the night.
The Dragons went down 2-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game but were quick to respond with 3 consecutive powerplay goals before the end of the period. They expanded their lead in the second period on goals by Noskey and Thompson to carry a 5-2 lead into the third. The Mustangs wouldn’t go away as they scored just 9 seconds into the third and then again with just over 5 minutes left in the game. The Dragons would hang on for the 5-4 win.
The Dragons next action is Thurday and Friday as they take on the Spruce Grove Saints and the Bonnyville Pontiacs at the AJHL Showcase in Spruce Grove.
