Dragons Acquire Landon Melzer from the Canucks

Drumheller, AB: November 20, 2017                        The Drumheller Dragons would like to announce that Landon Melzer has been acquired from the Calgary Canucks in exchange for a Player Development Fee.


Melzer, a 6’1” right shot defenseman from Canmore Alberta played 8 games with the Canucks and contributed 2 assists. Before junior, Melzer played for the UFA Bison’s of the Alberta Midget Hockey League and was a teammate of current Dragons forwards Tyson Scott and Kaden Hanas. With the Bison’s, the 18-year-old Melzer contributed 12 points in 32 games played and helped the team advance to the AMHL League final.

 
Drumheller Dragons Coach and General Manager Kevin Hasselberg had this to say about the addition of Melzer. “Landon comes to the team highly regarded for his character and commitment to the play the game hard. He’s an honest player who will fit into our dressing room, already familiar with a lot of the current roster.”

 
The entire Drumheller Dragons Organization would like to welcome Landon and his family to the Hockey Team. Landon will join the team tomorrow in time for practice.
