The Drumheller Dragons wish to announce the recent signing of Forward Rory Davidson and Defensemen Brody Valette.
Davidson played for the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs in the 2012/13 Season. Davidson played 34 games with 12 goals, 11 assists for 23 points and 10 PIM. During the playoffs Davidson had 14 GP – 8 G – 2 A – 4 PIM, the Chiefs went on to win the League and Telus Cup for the second consecutive year in a row.
GM/Head Coach Brian Curran commented on the signing, “Rory is a player that works very hard, skates very well, and his compete level is second to none. Rory is the type of player that I felt we lacked last season. I would like to welcome Rory to the Dragons Family”
Davidson commented on his recent signing, “I chose to come to the Drumheller Dragons because I believe that they have a solid program in place and the potential to become a championship team. I believe that I will be able to help the team reach its full potential through hard work and skill, and because I understand how much dedication and effort it takes to win after being a two-time national champion at the Telus Cup with the Red Deer Midget AAA Optimist Chiefs.”
Brody Valette played for the UFA Bisons in the 2012/13 Season. Valette had 34 GP-1 G- 11A- 12pts- 2PIM. GM/Head Coach Brian Curran commented, “Brody is a very mobile Defensemen with very strong skills, has great character, skates very well, and moves the puck well! We welcome Brody to the Dragons Family.”
Brody commented on his recent signing, “I am very excited to join the Dragons for the upcoming season. Over the last year or more the Dragons Head Scout, Wayne Labrie kept in touch with me, and made me feel like I wanted to be a Dragon. Brian Curran is a Coach who I had a chance to play for last year as an affiliate and I really enjoyed his approach along with his understanding and development of players. I feel with Brian’s leadership and experience, it will give both myself and the Dragons a great opportunity to be successful.”
