Dragons Announce Hockey Operations Personnel

The Drumheller Dragons will be making internal changes to the structure of the Hockey Operations team. The team will be promoting Kenton Levesque to the position of Associate Coach for the 2022-23 season. Kenton is entering his 5th season with the Dragons in a coaching role and will be overseeing the Hockey Operations with Kevin Hasselberg. Levesque played three seasons with the Dragons and served as captain in his final year before starting his coaching career.

The Dragons have also promoted Rick Lobe from Red Deer Alberta to the position of Assistant GM. Rick has dedicated time to the Dragons as a Trainer, a team Scout, and now will be taking on responsibilities helping the Coaching Staff with Hockey Operations and player personnel decisions.

Barry Sawchuk will assume the role of Head Scout Director of Recruiting for the 2021- 22 season. Sawchuk spent time as the Head Scout with the Canmore Eagles before joining the Dragons in a scouting role. From Dewinton Alberta, Sawchuk will lead all scouting and recruiting matters starting in the 2022-23 season.

The Dragons will also add two area scouts to the scouting team. Garry Kimmen joins the team from Lethbridge Alberta and will monitoring southern Alberta. Scottie Orchison joins the team from Sallis Alberta and will be monitoring Northern Alberta for the Dragons starting in the 2022-23 season.
