Dragons at Mustangs

The Dragons travelled to Calgary last night to take on the Mustangs at Father David Bauer Arena.  This was the first match up of a home-home series.  Dakota Zaharichuk got the Dragons on the board first with a power play marker at 3:24 with assists to Gartner and Jamieson.  At 5:15 with the Dragons short handed, Gartner attempted to clear the puck from inside the Dragons blue line, the shot was right on net, bounced just before it got to the goalie and went over his shoulder and in.  This gave Gartner his second point of the night with an assist going to Doane.  The Dragons were not done yet in the first period, Stephen Doane at 15:15 scored with assists going to Kerner and Deagle.  This put the Dragons up 3-0 at the end of 1.  The second period saw the new acquisition at the trade deadline, Harrison Hendrix, net his first one as a Dragon at 19:35 from Zaharichuk.  The second would end with the Dragons up 4-0.  The Mustangs got on the board at 13:28.  The Dragons finished off the scoring with another goal from Hendrix at 15:08 with assists to Gartner and Jamieson.  Final was 5-1 Dragons.  Next action is on Wednesday, when the Mustangs travel to the valley for the rematch in this home-home series.  Puck drop is at 7:30pm at the Memorial Arena.
