Dragons Clip Eagles Wings.
The Drumheller Dragons, in a very tough division match-up, beat the Canmore Eagles 3-2!
The Dragons came out against a very tough opponent in Canmore and with strong goaltending by Johnny Hogue and goals by Mitchell Cook (2) and Connor Duncan the Dragons would hold off the Eagles who had several scoring chances late in the third.
Entering the third period the Dragons, who held a 2-1 edge, would see their lead slip away as the Eagles tied the game midway through the 3rd.
With several minutes left in the game, Mitchell Cook scored his second of the game on a great pass from Marcus Messier to give the Dragons a 3-2 lead. The Eagles would put some good pressure on the Dragons with several scoring chances, but Johnny Hogue was up to the task with some key saves.
Next game will be home vs the Calgary Canucks on January 9th at 7:30 and again on Sunday vs the Lloydminster Bobcats at 2pm.
