Dragons & Ember Resources Donate $1000 To Drumheller Fire & Rescue

Drumheller, AB– The Drumheller Dragons teamed up with local energy company Ember Resources to contribute to the Drumheller Fire and Rescue at this past Friday’s game with the Bonnyville Pontiacs.

The Dragons and Ember teamed up to donate $200 for every Dragons goal scored to the Drumheller Fire and Rescue. The Dragons would go on to score 3 goals in the game, but Devaney Fraser (Ember Resources Community Relations Representative) rounded up the game total and presented DFR members a cheque for $1000!

The evening was dedicated to the fire department, with the Dragons providing free tickets to the members in attendance. The evening started with the MNP 2019 Canada Winter Games torch relay ceremony along with the fire department members escorting the flame to centre ice for a ceremonial face off. The department also had their rescue and pumper trucks out front of the arena prior to the game for fans to take a tour and get a first hand look at their equipment.

“Drumheller is lucky to have a fire department with such a dedicated group of volunteers, and we wanted to recognize them.” said Dragons Business Manager, Dustin Edwards. “They are truly the unsung hero’s and to hear the applause from the fans and their families when they walked onto the red carpet was special.” noted Edwards. “Ember Resources is a big supporter of fire departments in their operating area’s, so they didn’t hesitate when asked about the promotion to support Drumheller.”
