Drumheller, AB: The Drumheller Dragons have been on a tear since making some roster adjustments before the January 10th deadline. In the month of February, they were as good as any team in the AJHL! This helped them gain some valuable ground on the Drayton Valley Thunder for the last playoff spot in the South Division.
The Dragons played 9 games in February and posted a record of 7-1-1 with a goal differential of +22. They capped off the month with a back-to-back home stand against the Grande Prairie Storm, earning hard-fought victories in both games! The Dragons powerplay has also caught fire as they now sit 2nd in the AJHL for powerplay percentage which stands at 22.6%. Notable Dragons during the month of February include Bradley Gallo, Ellis Mieyette, Kai Matthew, and Jase Johnstone who all had excellent months.
There are only five games remaining in the Dragons regular season schedule. They hit the road this upcoming weekend to face off against the Lloydminster Bobcats and the Camrose Kodiaks before finishing off at home with two games against the Bonnyville Pontiacs and then one with the rival Calgary Canucks.
