Dragons Lose 2 To Bandits

The Drumheller Dragons lose 2 games this weekend in a back to back series against the Brooks Bandits.

In the first game in Brooks the Bandits came out with a solid effort and although it was only 1-0 after the First period that would be extended to a 3-0 lead at the end of 2. Entering the 3rd the Dragons would find themselves in penalty trouble and Brooks would make it 4-0. Mithchell Cook, on a Feed from Dakota Zaharichuk, would finally put the Dragons on the board to make it 4-1. That goal gave the Dragons some energy but it was short lived as the Dragons would give up 2 more power play goals and the final score would be a 6-1 loss.

Game two was a much better game in Drumheller as both teams came out strong, and in a fast and furious first period the Dragons would lead1-0.

In the second period the Bandits came out strong and with strong goaltending from Curtis Skip the second period would end up tied at 2.

Third period both teams came out hard and the Dragons would score to make it 3-2. A break down in the defensive end would have the Bandits score to tie the game. With 1:54 seconds left in the game the Dragons took a penalty and the Bandits capitalized with24 seconds left in the game to come away with a 4-3 win.
The Dragons travel to Canmore January 6th to play the Eagles and return home Friday to play the Canucks and Sunday to play the Lloydminster Bobcats.
