Dragons Sign Forward out of American U-16 Elite League

It is with great pride that the Drumheller Dragons announce the signing of 1999-born Brayden Nicholetts, a native of Spruce Grove, AB. The 5’11, 170-lb forward played for the Colorado Thunderbirds U-16 Minor Midget team last year, tallying 11 goals and 16 assists in 32 games.

Dragons Head Coach and GM, Brian Curran, has had his eye on Nicholetts for a while now. “Brayden came to our spring camp two years ago, and I have seen great improvement in him over the last two seasons.” Curran added, “he is a feisty player with excellent offensive skills that I look forward to working with him on this year.”

We caught up with Nicholetts, who is excited about the transition to playing Jr. A hockey in the Valley. “I think Drumheller is a great fit for me. I like the philosophy of hard work and being tough to play against every night,” said Nicholetts. “I think the coaches are very experienced and will help me improve. I’m very excited to get things started!”

Dragons fans can catch Nicholetts in action for the first time on September 9, when the Dragons take on Lloydminster in their first exhibition game at home.
