Dragons Sign Keeley Twins for 2016-17

The Drumheller Dragons are proud to announce the signing of 18-year-old twins Clay and Nate Keeley to their 2016-17 roster. From Nanton, AB, both Keeley's played their last two seasons with the Midget AAA Lethbridge Hurricanes. Clay, a defenseman, tallied 2 assists while Nate, a forward, notched 3 goals and 13 assists in 34 games with the Hurricanes last season.

The Keeley's aren't the biggest players, as both are 5'9 and weigh 150 lbs, but it's their farm-raised work ethic that attracted the Dragons coaching and scouting staff. “When I was talking to our scouts I wanted them to find players that work hard and give everything they have,” said head coach and GM, Brian Curran. “Both Clay and Nate fit that role and I can't speak highly enough of their character. Their commitment and dedication are exactly what this team needs, and I look forward to working with both of them this season.”

Both Clay and Nate chose Drumheller for the same reasons. “They are a team that works hard every day, practice or game,” they said. “They want to improve on- and off-ice performances and they present a winning environment.”

Dragons fans can catch the twins in action on September 9 as the Dragons host Lloydminster in their first home exhibition game.
