Dragons Sign Saskatchewan Defenseman Gage Misskey

It is with great pride that the Drumheller Dragons announce the signing of Gage Misskey, a 1998-born native of Melfort, SK, for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The 5’9”, 170-lb defenseman comes to the Dragons from the Swift Current Midget AAA Legionnaires of the SMHL, where he served as captain in his final year, tallying 3 goals and 24 assists in 44 games.

“Gage is a very strong and mobile defenseman,” said Dragons Head Coach and GM, Brian Curran. “Although he isn’t the biggest, he plays like he is 6’5” and has no fear.”

Misskey is looking forward to the upcoming season in Drumheller. “I am excited about committing to and playing for the Dragons, Coach Curran and Coach Olsen this year,” said Misskey. “I’ve heard lots of good things about Drumheller and the Dragons and I feel like I will fit right in on this team.”

Curran added about Misskey, “he has good hockey sense and I look forward to helping him with his goals.”

Dragons fans can catch Misskey in action in the Dragons first home exhibition game on September 9. The Dragons regular season home opener is on September 23, and will be preceded by the annual Dragons Tailgate Party.
