Dragons Sit 9th in First CJHL Rankings

Drumheller, AB: The initial list for the CJHL Weekly Top 20 Rankings came out this morning, and it has your Drumheller Dragons sitting at ninth in the nation!

The Dragons kicked off opening weekend with a statement, as they knocked off the Canmore Eagles in the home opener by a score of 5-3 before beating the defending national champion Calgary Canucks 10-3. They followed that up with a shootout loss to the Lloydminster Bobcats before defeating the Drayton Valley Thunder by a score of 5-4 this past weekend. This leaves them with a 3-0-1 record and the top spot in the AJHL South Division.

The Dragons early success has been powered by a number of standout players, including Bradley Gallo who currently leads the AJHL in both goals with 7 and points with 10. Rookie defenceman, Sullivan Humeniuk, has also looked great producing 6 points in his first 4 games on the blueline. Overall, the Dragons high-end talent and depth throughout the lineup has put the league on notice.

The Dragons kick off a three-in-three road trip this week as they head to Fort McMurray for two games before finishing it off with a tilt against the Bonnyville Pontiacs.
