Dragons split weekend games

The Dragons split their games this weekend as they took on the Calgary Canucks and the Brooks Bandits.

Friday night saw the Dragons improve to 4-0-0 on the season with a 2-1 win over the visiting Calgary Canucks. It was the second meeting between the two teams this year and it was a hard fought, exciting game all the way to the end.  Jonny Hogue made 22 saves in his first start of the season and both Jacob Schofield and Hunter Mills had 2 points on the night.

On Saturday the Dragons put their perfect record on the line as they travelled to Brooks to take on the Bandits. The Dragons opened the scoring on a goal by Clint Filbrandt, his second goal in 2 games. The Bandits would respond with two goals of their own to leave the score 2-1 after the first. The Bandits would add to their lead in the second period with 2 goals before Rory Davidson would get the Dragons back on the board with a shorthanded goal late in the period.  The two teams continued to trade goals in the third period with game ending with a final score of 6-4 in favour of the bandits.

The next action for the Dragons is in Calgary where they will take on the Mustangs. Game time is 7:30.
