Dragons Sweep Eagles

The Drumheller Dragons entered the first round of playoffs with home ice advantage on Wednesday, March 6th.  The Dragons took on the Canmore Eagles.  The Dragons walked away with a 3-2 win.  The second game in the series took place the following night, with the Dragons sending the Eagles packing with a 4-0 win.  Beukeboom got his first shutout of his AJHL playoff career.  Saturday saw the Dragons travel to Canmore to try and put an end to this best of 5 series.  The Dragons looked like they were going to take this game easily, but the Eagles would have none of that.  The Eagles fought back after been down 3-0 and were able to tie the game up and force an overtime.  Ryan Bloom would get the game winning goal to end the game 4-3 and indeed sweep the Eagles 3-0 in the Series.

The Dragons move on to Round 2 on the weekend, but our opponent will not be known until Wednesday.  It will depend on the outcome of the Okotoks vs Olds game.  We will either play Brooks or Camrose.  The Dragons will start on the road Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16th.  Our first home game will be Monday, March 18 and then Tuesday, March 19th, in the best of 7 series.

Go Dragons Go!!
