Dragons Take Game 2 in the Best of 5 Series

In one of the most lopsided first periods in Drumheller Dragons playoff history the Dragons stunned not only the Olds Grizzlys but their own fans as a 6 goal outburst in the first period caught everyone by surprise.

Dragons coach had this to say. “It was a strange game and I didn't see that coming and quite frankly have never been part of a first period like that.” Coach Curran also said “That was one of those games as coaches that are the hardest to coach as you need to keep your boys focused. I have the most respect for the Grizzlys and know that those games can happen.”

First period action saw the game start off with both teams strong but it would be the Dragons who would catch fire and at the end of one in one of the most productive periods in franchise history the Dragons would lead 6-0.

Second period action saw the Dragons score a pair of goals and Olds with one would end the period 8-1. The game at this point was getting very physical and Olds were doing everything they could to get back on track and salvage something from the game.

Third period saw very change. At the end it was a victory for the Dragons who enjoyed a very large crowd and it looked like everyone had a great night. Coach Currans final comment, “I have watched the Grizzlys for the last 3 years in the playoffs and I can assure you they will be ready for us and we need to play our best game of the series Saturday”

The Dragons would also like to once again thank the Faubion family for all their hard work over the years! Coach Curran,” It was great to see the whole family recognized,  I have only know them for 3 years but I will tell you they are some of the best and hardest working people I have met through my years!  Thanks for everything!

Dragons travel to Olds Saturday, March 7th for Game 3 of the series.
