DRUMHELLER, AB– The Drumheller Dragons, and the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), have released their 2018/2019 regular season schedule. The Dragons will open the season at home against South division rival, the Brooks Bandits, on Friday, Septemeber 14th, at the Memorial Arena. The last time these divison rivals met was in the AJHL Semi-Final last March, where the Bandits eliminated the Dragons in 6 games. Drumheller will wrap the opening 2 game weekend with a visit to the Camrose Kodiaks on Saturday, September, 15th.
The 2018/2019 season will be highlighted by a Family Day matinee Monday, February 18th, at 2pm when the Dragons host the Calgary Canucks. The 29 game home schedule will conclude on Sunday, March 3rd, with a visit from the Calgary Mustangs. This year's AJHL Showcase in Camrose, AB will feature two Dragons regular season games starting Thursday, September 27th against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons. The showcase will conclude Sunday, September 29th, against the Drayton Valley Thunder.
The Dragons exhibition schedule will consist of 6 games this fall and will be highlighted by a visit from the Kindersley Klippers (SJHL) on Wednesday, September 5th, at the Memorial Arena. The pre-season contests will come to a close with a “home opener teaser” series with the Brooks Bandits. The Dragons will host the Bandits on Friday, September 7th, and will head south for the final exhbition game Saturday, September 8th in Brooks.
