Former Dragon Defenseman Commits to University of Regina

The Drumheller Dragons are proud to announce that former defenseman and assistant captain Isaac Schacher has committed to the University of Regina for the 2016-17 season.

Schacher will be studying business at the University of Regina, and will join the Cougars for the next four seasons.

“Isaac played a huge role as a leader for the Dragons last season,” commented Dragons head coach and GM, Brian Curran, “and he will no doubt play a leading role at the collegiate level as well. He is a skilled defenseman who is patient with the puck and sees the ice well.”

Schacher came to the Dragons as a 20-year-old in the 2015-16 season after playing several seasons in the WHL (Victoria Royals, Regina Pats, Saskatoon Blades). He was an asset on the point with 9 goals and 20 assists in 52 games with the Dragons.

“I would like to congratulate him on his commitment and wish him all the best next season and beyond.” said Curran.
