Former Dragon Taupert Signs Pro Contract

Drumheller, AB: Former Dragon Jordan Taupert, who also holds the franchise record in points with 189, has signed a professional contract with the Lausitzer Fuchse in the DEL 2 league in Germany.

Taupert, who played with the Dragons from 2016-2019 and also wore an “A” in his final two seasons. He still currently holds the Dragons franchise record in points with 189. During this AJHL career he played 292 games and recorded a total of 232 points. After graduating from the Dragons program, Taupert went on to play at MacEwan University for the Griffins Men’s Hockey Program. He also holds the program record in career points at the Canada West level with 46.

In an interview, Taupert noted that it had always been a dream of his to play professional hockey in Germany as his grandfather grew up there. The DEL 2 league is an extremely competitive and high-level league, with many players having previously played in the ECHL. He also stated that he is extremely excited and prepared for the next level of hockey in his career.
