Our very own Hunter Virostek #35 is named the Canalta Hotels AJHL Defensive Player of the week, for the week of September 25 – October 1.
Dragons goaltender, Hunter Virostek, is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. Virostek posted a 3-0 record, including a win at the AJHL Showcase last week, and is undefeated in his last 6 games.
Virostek received the Viterra Star of the Game Award on September 30th after turning away 31 of 32 shots versus the Spruce Grove Saints and earning a 3-1 win at the AJHL Showcase. He allowed just 4 goals on 78 shots over three games played last week and held a 1.33 GAA.
“It has been great so far this season, being able to coach Virostek, and have him be part of the team.” said Dragons Assistant Coach Brayden Klimosko.
Virostek is now 6-1-0 in the regular season and leads all AJHL goaltenders with a 1.46 GAA and .944 SV%. The 18 year-old from Turner Valley, AB is in his second season with the Dragons.
