Kreklewich Commits to University of Regina

Drumheller, AB – The Drumheller Dragons are very pleased to announce that forward Tyler Kreklewich has committed to attend the University of Regina in the Fall of 2018. The Regina Cougars play out of Canada West in the U Sports competing against teams from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

Kreklewich was acquired in a trade during the 2016/17 season from his hometown Melville Millionaires. Known for his explosive speed and creative skills, the 6’0 – 170 lbs center was able to contribute 74 points in 95 regular season games as a member of the Dragons. This was highlighted by his 7 points in 10 playoff games last season, which included 5 goals.

Dragons Head Coach Kevin Hasselberg commented, “Tyler was a player with the ability to gets fans out of their seats with his effortless speed. He was never fearful of attacking multiple defenders, splitting defense, and scoring highlight reel goals. More importantly, Tyler was a vocal leader in the dressing room whom brought enthusiasm, charisma and passion for the game.”

“I'm real excited about the group of guys we've got coming in,” Head Coach of Regina Cougars Todd Johnson said. “We've been able to add seven guys with significant experience in the WHL and some real quality players that put up some impressive numbers at the Junior A level. We're looking forward to getting these guys on the ice with our returning players in just a couple of weeks.”
