Drumheller, AB: The Dragons organization is excited to announce that former defenceman, Will McLaughlin, has been named to the 2025-26 NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch List with a “C” rating!
The list is a compilation of draft-eligible prospects from all the major development leagues throughout North America and Europe. It will be updated throughout the season as scouts evaluate players. A “C” rating indicates a 4th to 5th round candidate for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
McLaughlin had a great rookie season in 2024-25 with the Dragons organization, as he produced 29 points in 47 games played. This season, the Colorado College commit has 3 points in 10 games played with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL. This summer he also helped Team USA to a gold medal victory at the Gretzky Hlinka tournament!
