Drumheller, AB: January 17, 2019. The Drumheller Dragons are excited to announce that 17-year-old forward Nickolas de Beurs from Cochrane Alberta has signed a Letter of Intent for the 2019-2020 season.
At 6’1 and185 pounds the left shot forward de Beurs is currently playing left wing for the Airdrie Bisons in the Alberta Midget Hockey League. After starting the season with an injury, Nick has returned to add 16 points in 15 games played including 10 goals. Nick has already played in 2 games with the Dragons this season.
“We are very excited Nick and his family have chosen the Dragons.” states Coach Kevin Hasselberg. “Nick’s value’s align with ours and we are confident his transition from midget to junior will be with relentless preparation and a lot of hard work. Nick’s effort in games played with us already this season have shown he has the abilities to be a successful Alberta Junior Hockey player.”
The Drumheller Dragons would like to welcome Nick and the de Beurs family to the Drumheller Dragons and wish him continued success with the Airdrie Bisons for the remainder of the season.
