Oilers Burn Dragons at Home

The Dragons hosted the Okotoks Oilers on Friday night and were hoping their current success against the Oilers would continue.  Unfortunately, that was not the case.  The Dragons lead the season series 2 games to 1 with both of the wins happening on the road in Okotoks.  Their last meeting was earlier this month where Drumheller beat Okotoks 2-1.  Okotoks thought they should have won that game and wanted retribution
The Oilers opened up the scoring midway through the first when Zane Kindrachuk scored to make it 1-0 Okotoks.  One minute later, the Oilers added to their lead, when Carter Huber scored from Marc Pasemko (may be changes as there possibly was different assists).  Only 40 seconds later, Okotoks scored their third goal when Austin Wong scored five hole on Dane Dow.  That was it for Dane Dow for the night.  Dane gave up 3 goals on 8 shots.  After one, the score was 3-0 Okotoks and the Oilers lead in the shot count as well, 12-5.

The second was a stronger period for the Dragons.  Drumheller had some great opportunities with the power play but just couldn't get one past Okotoks goaltender Riley Morris.  You could see momentum trying to shift in the Dragons favour but that was stopped when the Oilers scored on the power play with under 2 minutes left in the period.  Kyle Gordon scored from Kylor Wall and Zane Kindrachuk.

The third was similar to the second as Drumheller played strong but just couldn't score.  The Oilers sealed the deal on a nice top corner shot from Quinn Olson with an assist from Austin Wong.  Final score was 5-0 Okotoks.  The Dragons had power play chances in the game but went 0 for 9 on the man advantage.
