Salvation Army Tennis Ball Toss

Saturday, November 23, 2013 saw the Drumheller Dragons take on the Sherwood Park Crusaders at the Memorial Arena.  The Dragons were partnered with the Salvation Army and Encana to bring the Tennis Ball Toss game.  This event replaced our annual Teddy Bear Toss game.  Fans could purchase a tennis ball for $0.25 and the ball had a slit in it to put a monetary donation in.  The money will be used to purchase gifts for the children who would not necessarily get a gift this Christmas.  The game was just underway when at the 3:33 mark Ethan James put one behind Cru netminder Zac Klassen to let the Tennis Balls fly.  Bechtold and Smith got the assists on that goal.  In total $834 was raised to help purchase gifts for the children of the valley who may not normally get one at Christmas time.  The HiWay 9 PeeWee Raptors went out on to the ice to pick up all of the Tennis Balls and quickly get the game back underway.  Thank you Raptors.  The game ended in a 6-3 win for the Dragons over the Cru.

The Dragons head out on the road this weekend.  Friday sees us at Lloydminster at 7:30pm.  Saturday sees us in Sherwood Park at 7pm.  Sunday we are in Drayton Valley at 2:30pm
