Dragons rookie defenseman Tanner Willick has been named the AJHL Alberta Ford Dealers Defensive Player of the Week.
The 18 year-old defenceman had seven points (2G, 5A) in three consecutive wins for the Dragons and has compiled a five-game point streak.
The Saskatoon native scored a goal and added in an assist to help lead the Dragons over the Canucks 3-1. Willick then scored his first AJHL game winning goal, in a season-high three-point game, on February 4th as the Dragons made a historic come back from a 4-0 first period deficit with five unanswered goals to post a 5-4 victory over the Kodiaks. The week concluded for the Dragons with a 5-2 win over the Bulldogs where Willick tallied two assists bringing his season total to 24 assists and 32 points.
