Vannucci Commits to York University

The Drumheller Dragons are pleased to announce that 20 year old forward Colton Vannucci has committed to York University for the 2014-2015 season.

Vannucci, a 1993-born, 5’9”, 155 pound forward from High River, Alberta, played 2 seasons with the Dragons, 2012-2014.  In this past season Colton played 56 games, scoring 20 goals with 43 assists for 63 points and 34 penalty minutes.  In his 2 seasons with the Dragons Colton played a total of 116 games, scoring 34 goals, 63 assists for a total of 97 points with 125 penalty minutes.  In his two seasons with the Dragons, Colton helped the team head to the AJHL Playoffs.  In the 2 seasons with the Dragons, Colton played 25 games, scoring 10 goals with 13 assists for 23 points and 42 penalty minutes.  The Dragons were named the AJHL South Division Champions this past season.

Dragons Head Coach Brian Curran had this to say about Colton’s recent commitment, “It has been a pleasure watching Colton grow as a player over the past two seasons!  On behalf of the Dragons Organization I would like to wish Colton the best at York University.  I look forward to Colton’s future endeavors as I know he will succeed in whatever he decides to pursue.”

Vannucci had this to say about his recent commitment, “I want to thank the entire Drumheller Dragons Organization for 2 unbelievable seasons.  Also Coach Brian Curran for helping me develop as a player.  I want to thank all my billets and teammates for everything they have done for me I couldn’t have done this without them.  I’m very excited to start my education and further my hockey career with the York University Lions in the fall.”
