Drumheller, AB: The Drumheller Dragons organization has a long list of players that have gone on to play Division I hockey, and this past weekend they added another name to that list. Dragons forward Vann Yuhas has announced his commitment to play Division I hockey at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. The ’04 born winger has had an impressive season thus far, tallying 10 goals and 32 points in just 34 games during his second season with the club.
Reflecting on his commitment, Yuhas stated, “The commitment means so much to me and my family because I’ve been working towards this my whole life. It makes me very thankful for all the support I’ve gotten along the way.”
Yuhas, a native of Medicine Hat, will be joining a fellow teammate at Merrimack College in Ty Daneault. The pair of Dragons forwards are currently the top scorers for the team and will be future teammates when they arrive in the NCAA. When asked about playing with Daneault, Yuhas stated, “I’m pumped! Ty is an unreal player and an amazing guy so it’ll be fun to be aside him for a few more years.”
Yuhas also sends credit to the Dragons organization, as he raved about the impact his coaches and teammates have had on his development and getting him prepared for the next level. “The coaches are top notch and will do anything for you to succeed. My teammates and billets have been amazing to me since I’ve joined Drumheller which has been a huge part of my success.”
You can watch newly committed Yuhas and the Dragons go for three straight wins this upcoming Monday, December 19th as they welcome the Grande Prairie Storm to the Memorial Arena in Drumheller.
