Drumheller, AB: The Drumheller Dragons have some huge news as we are excited to announce that Will McLaughlin has been selected to represent Team USA at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup!
The tournament is an annual best-on-best U18 competition that runs from August 11th to 16th in Brno, Czechia and Trencin, Slovakia! The team is largely made up of players from the WHL, OHL, USHL, and U16 AAA programs in the United States. Will is one of eleven committed players on the roster that features a number of top NHL draft eligible prospects!
McLaughlin had a tremendous rookie season in the AJHL with the Dragons as he produced 29 points in 47 games played. This total led all Dragons defenceman and was 5th in AJHL rankings. The Colorado College commit was also signed by the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL during the season and will be off to their training camp to start the 2025-26 campaign.
