Cam Christianson

Owner

An alumus of the Drumheller Falcons, which were the Jr. A team in Drumheller during the 1970’s, Cam put in a bid for a new expansion team in the AJHL South Division in 2002. Long known for its passion for hockey, Drumheller Valley seemed like the perfect place to rekindle that spirit and so the Drumheller Dragons Jr. A Hockey Club was born a year later in 2003. To this day, the Christianson Family still owns and operates the team with the same goals in mind. The ownership group is dedicated to providing the opportunity for players to reach their goals of gaining a post-secondary education through the sport of hockey while also providing a valuable service to the community of Drumheller.

Blair Christianson

Owner/Chairman

Blair shares his family’s passion for hockey. He believes that the opportunity to bring a team to the Drumheller Valley is something that is beneficial for the community as a whole. Blair is the acting governor of the team and believes in providing our players with the best opportunities and experiences possible.

Kevin Hasselberg

Head Coach/General Manager (GM)

Kevin joined the Dragons for the 2017-2018 season. A native of Duchess, AB, Kevin came to the Dragons from the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey Leagues (SPHL), where he was Head Coach/GM for the 2016-2017 season. Before that, Kevin spent 5 years as the Head Coach/GM of the Battleford North Stars of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). Kevin is currently the Dragons all-time franchise games coached leader and wins leader and has over 25 years of coaching experience within Jr. A and professional hockey. In 2022, he surpassed the 1000th game coached mark at the Jr. A level! Kevin is a dedicated father and grandfather, with his family currently all residing throughout Alberta.

Kenton Levesque

Associate Coach

Kenton joined the Dragons coaching staff for the 2018-2019 season. A former member of the Drumheller Dragons, Kenton played three seasons with the club and captained the team in his last season (2011-2012). After junior, he played 4 seasons in the ACAC with the SAIT Trojans. Kenton is a skill development coach, previously working with P3 Sports in Cochrane, AB. Before joining the Dragons coaching staff, he also coached the AC Avalanche in the Alberta Minor Midget Hockey League. Kenton has proudly coached 7 seasons with the Dragons organization, helping lead the team to playoff births in every season.

Carson Cox

Assistant Coach

Carson Cox joined the Drumheller Dragons in the 2026-27 season with a strong background in hockey, academics, and sports management. Originally from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Carson played four seasons of NCAA Division III hockey at SUNY Canton in New York, where he was recognized as an All-American Scholar and graduated with a 3.89 GPA. Carson graduated in 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management and a minor in Marketing. He brings his experience as a collegiate athlete, along with his education and passion for hockey, to the Dragons organization.

Matt Tassone

Director of Player Personnel

Prior to his role with the Dragons, Matt had spent the past six seasons working as a coach for the Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 program, where he helped them win two Canadian Sport School Hockey League U18 Prep championships. Matt is also involved with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL, helping as a skills coach and working in player development. Tassone also had a successful playing career, as he played in the WHL, ECHL and AHL, amassing over 196 games played in professional hockey. He was also a 6th round selection of the Dallas Stars in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. The Fort Saskatchewan native spent 5 seasons with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL, putting up 119 points in 187 games played and was also an assistant captain in his last season. His most notable season in professional hockey was during the 2014-2015 season with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, where he captained the team and had 28 points in 29 games played.

Robby Nolan

Goaltending Coach

Robby Nolan joined the Dragons in 2025 as their goaltending coach. Robby had a successful AJHL career, earning an NCAA scholarship to Michigan Tech University. He played four seasons in the IHL, CHL, ECHL, and AHL before finishing his career in Europe. He is excited to be a part of the Drumheller community and the Dragons organization.

Jeremy Au

Athletic Therapist/Equipment Manager

Jeremy Au joined the Drumheller Dragons in the 2026-27 season as a Certified Athletic Therapist, bringing a strong background in athletic therapy, kinesiology, and hockey. Originally from Hong Kong, Jeremy graduated from York University in 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and an Athletic Therapy Certificate. Jeremy’s experience includes working with the Ottawa Senators Development Camp in 2026, Upper Canada College during the 2025–26 season, and the York University Men’s OUA Hockey team during the 2024–25 season. He brings valuable experience in athlete care, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance to the Dragons organization.

Jonathon DeWolfe

Strength and Conditioning Coach

Jonathan DeWolfe joined the Drumheller Dragons in 2025-26 season as the Strength and Conditioning Coach. Born and raised in Drumheller, Jonathan returned to the Valley in 2023, bringing extensive knowledge and experience in strength training, mobility, and athlete development. Jonathan began his career as a personal trainer in 2011 and has spent the past 15 years expanding his knowledge of human performance through seminars, workshops, and certification programs across North America. He has worked with athletes of all levels, including hockey players ranging from minor hockey to professional athletes.

McKinley Nelson

Mental Health Coach

McKinley Nelson joined the Drumheller Dragons in 2026-27 season as the Mental Health Coach. As a former competitive athlete, McKinley has a particular interest in supporting athletes with performance pressure, confidence, injury recovery, burnout, identity beyond sport, and transitions both within and outside of athletics. She understands the unique challenges athletes face and is committed to helping them build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and prioritize mental wellness both on and off the ice.

Lee-Ann Jarrett

Business Manager

Lee-Ann joined the Dragons during the 2025-26 season as Business Manager after serving the past six years as part of the Dragons billet program. Her dedication, work ethic, commitment to the community, and passion for the Dragons makes her a very valuable member of the organization.
