Mieyette Ranked on NHL Central Scouting Watchlist

Drumheller, AB: NHL Central Scouting has released their 2024-2025 Preliminary Players to Watch List and on that list was none other than Dragons rookie forward, Ellis Mieyette!

The Lumsden, SK native was given a “W” rating, which indicates a 6th/7th round candidate for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. Ellis joins the likes of Ty Daneault, Easton Adrian, and Coy Pighin who were also former Dragons that had been ranked in previous seasons.

Mieyette, who was named the AJHL Player of the Month for September, has had a great start to the 2024-2025 AJHL season with the club. He currently leads the team in points with 16 (4 goals and 12 assists) in only 12 games played. This total is also good for 4th place in AJHL scoring in addition to leading all rookies in point per game average. Prior to his time with the Dragons, Mieyette played for the Regina Pat Canadians in the SMAAAHL where he produced 51 points in 44 games played.

Ellis looks to continue his exceptional play as the Dragons hit the road this weekend for back-to-back games against the AJHL leading Grande Prairie Storm. You can listen in on New Country 92.5FM for all the play-by-play action!
