Tennis Ball Toss Deemed a Success

Despite today’s economic climate, the Tennis Ball Toss at the Dragons game on December 6th was deemed a success by Drumheller Salvation Army Director Shane Hillier.

The Dragons scored their first goal only four minutes and one second into the first period, after which the tennis balls began flying onto the ice. “The Dragons scored so quickly, that not everyone had a chance to put their money in the tennis balls,” noted Hillier, “so a few people came to me later on with their donation.”

The toss raised $668.25, which is up from $516.00 at last year’s toss. The money raised will go directly to the Salvation Army. “We were very pleased with the outcome,” said Hillier.
