Drumheller, AB: After a standout freshman season at Merrimack College, former Dragon Ty Daneault is headed to the Winnipeg Jets Development Camp!
Ty Daneault played for the Dragons from 2021 to 2023 and in those two seasons he recorded 57 goals and 105 points in 107 games played. That included a tremendous second season that saw him enter into the Dragons record books as he scored 37 goals in 53 games, good for second place among single-season goal totals in franchise history.
Daneault just completed his freshman season at Merrimack College, where he posted 13 goals and 21 points in 34 games played. In addition, he was named the team’s Rookie of the Year for his tremendous season and finished fourth in team scoring. His outstanding first year not only was followed by Dragons fans, but also caught the eye of NHL scouts as Daneault received a development camp invite from the Winnipeg Jets.
The Jets development camp will run from July 3rd to July 7th and feature 35 players, half of which were draft picks by the team or have played for their AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose.
We would like to wish Ty luck as he looks to take the next step in his hockey career and journey!
