The Drumheller Dragons are pleased to announce the recent hiring of Associate Coach Gavin Holcomb.
Gavin was an Assistant Coach with the Nipawin Hawks of the SJHL in the latter half of the 2014 Season. Prior to the Hawks, Gavin was Head Coach/GM of the Melfort Mustangs from 2011-2014. He also coached for the LaRonge Icewolves where they earned 2 League Titles and had an RBC appearance. Gavin played for 2 years in LaBrett and Melville in the SJHL. He played 1 year with the Powell River Kings in the BCHL. He grew up and played his minor hockey in Prince Albert, and when moving on to AAA he played for Beardy’s Blackhawks.
Gavin had this to say about joining the Dragons, “I am very excited to join Brian and the rest of the Dragons Organization. It is a great opportunity and I’m looking forward to working with the players and continuing the success of the past season.”
Head Coach/GM Brian Curran had this to say about the recent hiring, “I am looking forward to having Gavin join our staff. He brings a wealth of knowledge with him from playing the game to coaching the game. I know that he will be an important assist to our team.”
