The Drumheller Dragons hosted the Camrose Kodiaks and the Olds Grizzlys last weekend at the Drumheller Memorial Arena, and after a very solid road trip the previous weekend we came home with a lot of confidence.
However, we faced the Kodiaks on Friday night and fell 5-2, and on Saturday we lost 6-2 to the Grizzlys.
I won't go into detail about the games but I will say that I was very surprised at the way way we played in our building compared to how we played on the road just the weekend before. It was like watching two different teams. Everything we did well on the road we left there. I expected the team to build on that weekend and not go backward, which we ended up doing. We will all take something from this past weekend and remind ourselves who we are and where we want to be at the end of the season. We have work to do this week but I will say that so far the players have practiced hard this week and they understand that can't happen again.
