Dragons Make Trade with Whitecourt

The Drumheller Dragons have traded 19-year-old forward Evan Tschumi to the Whitecourt Wolverines for '97 defenseman Josh Bishop and future considerations. So far with the Dragons this season, Tschumi has tallied 7 goals, 8 assists and 130 penalty minutes in 30 games.

“This was not a move of necessity, it was a move of need as we are very banged up on defense and I felt that it was our number one concern,” said Brian Curran, Dragons head coach and GM. “Josh is a very solid defenseman with good size and skates well.”

Bishop, who is 6'2″ and 200-lbs, is from Strathmore, AB. So far with the Wolverines, he has tallied 1 goal and 8 assists in 31 games this season.

“I wish all the best to Evan and his family,” said Curran. “Evan has grown a lot since the Dragons acquired him last year. In my opinion, he will have a very solid end to this season with the Wolverines and a very successful college career.” Tschumi is committed to Colgate University of the NCAA for the 2017-18 season.
