Dragons Recent Signing

The Drumheller Dragons wished to announce the recent signing of Defensemen Robin Yew and Forward Regan Yew.

GM/Head Coach, Brian Curran had this to say about the recent signing, “Robin is a very gifted skater and explosive out of the block and as an ex-defenseman that is crucial.  His vision and work ethic will help him accomplish his goals in hockey.  The Dragons welcome him and look forward to developing his skills.”

Robin commented, “I chose the Drumheller Dragons because one of my main goals is to excel in hockey and education.  I feel confident that Drumheller is the place that is going to help me the best to exceed these goals.  I was impressed with the community and the hospitality that we received during our recent couple of visits.  To me it was a no brainer decision, Drumheller is where I want to be and I’m ready to work hard every day to achieve my goals and to get better every day.”

Robin is a 95 born Defenseman who played for the AAA Battleford North Stars last year.  Robin played 37 games with the Stars, for 2pt, 14 assists, for a total of 16pts and 22pims.  Robin was selected MVP for the season and was also the captain of the team.

GM/Head Coach, Brian Curran also commented on Regan Yew’s recent signing, “Regan is a very strong 2-way player with good size, great work ethic and will go to the net.  I feel he will be a great asset to our team.  His work ethic and determination will help him attain his goals.  The Dragons welcome both boys and I believe the fans will enjoy watching both for years to come.”

Regan commented on his signing, “There are a few reasons why I choose the Drumheller Dragons organization.  Recently I have been to the community on two separate occasions.  On each visit I was impressed with the community, how everybody is friendly.  I’m also looking forward to being coached by an ex NHL player and I believe that he will make me a stronger and better hockey player.

Regan is a 95 born forward who played for the AAA Battleford North Stars last season.  Regan played 44 games scoring 19 goals, 18 assists for 37 points and 20 pim.  Regan was selected as the MVP for the Mac’s Tournament in December in Calgary and the 3 game playoff series, as selected by his team.
