Drumheller, AB: We are excited to announce that former Dragons forward, Shane Ott, has signed a professional contract with the Bloomington Bison in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL)!
Ott, who is a Colorado native, played for the Drumheller Dragons over two seasons from 2018-2020. During that time, he posted excellent numbers as he produced 114 points in 115 games played. During his time with the Dragons, he earned a NCAA Division I scholarship to play at Niagara University. After graduating to the college level in 2021, he thrived in the NCAA as he played in all four of his seasons at Niagara and earned a nomination for the Hobey Baker Award in his senior year. In total over his college career, he finished with 32 goals and 100 points in 149 games played.
The Bloomington Bison are the ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers (NHL) and the Hartford Wolfpack (AHL). The team also has a working agreement with the Carolina Hurricanes as they also assign prospects to Bloomington.
We would like to congratulate Shane on this tremendous accomplishment and wish him the best of luck as he moves on to the pro level!
