October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Dragons are showing their support by bringing pink back to the Memorial Arena during their match-up with the Brooks Bandits on Friday, October 27th.
Last year, the Dragons sold pink t-shirts at the Breast Cancer Awareness Game and raised $745 for the Canadian Cancer Society. This year, the Dragons are hoping to surpass the $1000 mark by handing out pink ralley towels which are available by donation, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
“This year the Canadian Cancer Society's October campaign is actually Pink in the Rink,” said Business Manager, Nicky Faye, “so when the Dragons score and everyone waves their pink towels in the air, it will create a great Pink in the Rink atmosphere.”
The Dragons players will wear pink skate laces, sock tape and have pink tape on their sticks again this year to show their support. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as well.
Puck drop is 7:30pm at the Memorial Arena.
