Two Dragons Listed on NHL Central Scouting Watchlist

Drumheller, AB: This morning the NHL and the department of NHL Central Scouting released their preliminary watchlist for the 2024 NHL Draft. On that list were two Dragons, forward Coy Pighin and defenceman Easton Adrian.

The list is a compilation of 2024 draft-eligible prospects from all the major development leagues throughout North America and Europe, which will be updated throughout the season as scouts evaluate players. Players on the list with ‘A’ ratings are considered potential first round picks. Players with ‘B’ ratings are considered possible second / third round choices, players with ‘C’ ratings are potential fourth / fifth round picks, and those with ‘W’ ratings indicate a ‘watch’ player for potential sixth / seventh round consideration and players with a limited scouting history and games played. The 2024 NHL Entry Draft is expected to be held in June of 2024 in Las Vegas.

Both Coy Pighin and Easton Adrian received ‘W’ ratings, having them projected to be potential 6thor 7th round draft picks. Adrian currently leads the AJHL in defencemen scoring with 18 points in 17 games played. He is committed to play division one hockey at RPI next season. Pighin is coming off an outstanding rookie season and is the teams first line center, playing alongside Vann Yuhas and Adam Raesler who currently leads the team in scoring. He is committed to play division one hockey at Colorado College for the 2025 season.
