Cardinal Commits to SFU

Drumheller, AB: The Drumheller Dragons are proud to announce that graduating forward Holden Cardinal has announced his commitment to play collegiate hockey at Simon Fraser University for next season!

Cardinal was acquired by the Dragons at the trade deadline this past season and had an immediate impact on the team. He produced 10 points in 19 games played during the regular season before leading the team in points during the playoffs with 10 points in 9 games played. He was also named the team’s Playoff MVP for the 2023-24 season!

During Cardinal’s junior career, he tallied 30 points in 63 games played in the BCHL before moving to the AJHL where he had 26 points in 38 games played with both the Dragons and Sherwood Park Crusaders. Holden, who is a native of Vancouver, will be playing close to home for the Simon Fraser Red Leafs Men’s Hockey program. He also joins former Dragons Kiano Robinson who has played there since the 2022 season.

We would like to congratulate Cardinal on this tremendous accomplishment and wish him all the best in the next steps of his hockey journey!
