Dragons Drop Tough Game to Bobcats – Coach Curran’s Recap

Written by Coach Curran

The Drumheller Dragons hosted the Lloydminster Bobcats on Sunday afternoon and dropped the game 3-1.

The lone goal for the Dragons came from Cody Young, which tied the game in the second period. However, on a miscommunication on a line change the Dragons allowed a breakaway which lead to a goal in the third period. The Bobcats added another empty-net goal to take the game 3-1.

This game was a tough pill to swallow. Except for several minutes in the second period we out chanced Lloydminster 2-1. I like a lot of what we did in the game and the amount of chances we had but at the end of the day you have to capitalize on them and we ran into a hot goalie. I found the game to be a reversal of the game in Lloydminster last month where they outplayed us but our goaltender stood on his head. The Bobcats are just as young as we are and they work hard but these types of games we have to just keep the game simple. We made some mistakes and it cost us.
