The Drumheller Dragons are proud to announce the signing of forward Joren Patenaude, an affiliate with the Dragons last season, for the upcoming 2016-17 season. Patenaude comes to the Dragons from the Calgary Midget AAA Buffaloes where he tallied 9 goals and 17 assists in 29 games last season. The 5'10, 170-lb native of Calgary, AB played 10 regular season games and 4 playoff games with the Dragons last season, registering 3 goals and 3 assists total.
“Joren is a smart player and has the ability to play both ends of the arena,” said Brian Curran, Dragons head coach and GM. “He was very successful in the games he played for us last season and will definitely contribute in all areas of the ice this season.”
Patenaude knows what it's like to play hockey in Drumheller and is excited to come back for a full season. “I chose Drumheller because it is a great hockey town with a devoted fan base that embraces and supports the team,” he said. “Coach Curran puts his players above all else and shows he is very passionate towards the Drumheller Dragons. I believe that Drumheller will be a great place for me to develop as a player.”
Dragons fans can get reacquainted with Patenaude on September 9 when the Dragons host Lloydminster in their first home exhibition game.
