Dragons Sign Offensive Powerhouse for 2016-17

It is with great pride that the Drumheller Dragons announce the signing of forward Brett Campbell for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The six-foot, 191-pound 18-year-old from Calgary, AB played his last two seasons with the Calgary Midget AAA Northstars, where he posted 10 goals and 20 assists in 33 games in 2015-16.

Dragons head coach and GM, Brian Curran, thinks Campbell will add a lot of scoring to his team this year. “Brett is a power forward with very good skills around the offensive net,” he said. “We look forward to him being an offensive presence on our team this year.”

Campbell is excited about the move to Drumheller. “I chose the Drumheller Dragons because I know it is a great town to live in and be a part of,” he said. “I have confidence in the coaching staff that they will be able to push me to the next level and make me improve not only as a hockey player, but also as a person.”

Dragons fans can catch Campbell in action on September 9 when the Dragons host the Lloydminster Bobcats in their first home exhibition contest. The Dragons' regular season home opener and preceding tailgate party is on Friday, September 23 versus the Calgary Mustangs.
