Registration is drawing near for the 2017 Drumheller Dragons Hockey School, and there are still spaces available.
The camp runs August 14-18 this year, but the deadline for registering your child is Friday, August 4.
“We really hope we get a lot of kids out this year, because it's going to be the best hockey school we've ever had,” said Amanda Stahl, member of the Drumheller Dragons Management Committee. “We've made a lot of changes that will contribute to a positive, enlightening, and fun experience for the kids.”
This year the Dragons are bringing in nutritionist Tina Buchberger and sport psychologist (and Dragons goalie coach) Ben Vandervies for classroom sessions, who will teach the kids how to think and eat like an elite athlete in a fun and engaging way.
The Dragons are also excited about the addition of new Head Coach/GM Kevin Hasselberg, and new Assistant Coach Brayden Klimosko, who combined have over 25 years experience running hockey school programs.
“Kevin and Brayden will be huge assets to the hockey school this year,” said Stahl. “They are both amazing mentors and are passionate about helping young kids improve their hockey skills.”
The Dragons are also excited to welcome back 12 current Drumheller Dragons to be Jr. Facilitators at the hockey school.
“They are very excited to be able to teach their skills to the next generation after them,” said Hasselberg.
