Mieyette Named AJHL Player of the Month

Drumheller, AB: The first month of the 2024-2025 AJHL Regular Season has already come and gone and the Dragons couldn’t have asked for a better start!

The Dragons currently sit at the top of the AJHL South Division with a record of 5-2-0. For the first time in the 17 year history of the AJHL Showcase the Dragons were able to go 2-0 with wins over Drayton Valley and Devon, outscoring their opponents in these two games by a margin of 11-2. The Dragons also sit at the top of the AJHL in goals for with 31. A large part of their early season success and offensive output has been rookie forward, Ellis Mieyette. With his great start to the season, Mieyette has been recognized as the AJHL Player of the Month in September!

Through his first 7 games played with the Dragons, the Saskatchewan native has produced 4 goals and 9 assists for a league leading 13 points! He also has three more points then the next closest player in the league. He has been a staple on the Dragons top line, playing alongside fellow rookie Easton Daneault and second-year Dragon Josh Diegel. Both those players are also producing at over a point per game rate.

We would like to congratulate Ellis on this honour and his early season success! You can watch Mieyette and the Dragons in action next Friday, October 11th as they take on the Camrose Kodiaks at the Memorial Arena!
