Drumheller, AB: The Drumheller Dragons have been off to one of their best starts in recent memory, and that is in large part to the hot starts from Vann Yuhas and Easton Adrian. This week, their play was recognized by the AJHL as Yuhas was named the AJHL Player of the Week and Adrian was named the AJHL Defensive Player of the Week!
Vann Yuhas, who is committed to Merrimack College, has recorded 4 goals and 12 points in the first 5 games of the regular season. The newly named captain is currently second in the league in AJHL scoring, only trailing his teammate Easton Adrian. Yuhas has been a force to be reckoned with early in the season, working well with line mates Coy Pighin and Adam Raesler, who both have been well over point a game players for the Dragons.
Easton Adrian, who is a RPI commit, is currently leading the AJHL in points. The defenseman has been a staple on the first powerplay unit, which is one of the top in the AJHL in large part to his play early in the season. Through the first 5 games of the regular season, he has 1 goal and 12 assists for 13 points. This is almost double the points as the next closest defenceman in AJHL scoring.
You can catch Yuhas and Adrian this upcoming week at the AJHL Showcase. The Dragons kick off the showcase with a matchup against the Whitecourt Wolverines on Thursday and then finish with a game against the Spruce Grove Saints on Saturday. Get your tickets now at tickets.calgarycanucks.ca.
